Congratulations on this initiative. A current, accurate barometer of sunshine coast business sentiment is just the sort of thing we need to assist with forward planning. I thought this survey would have been the responsibility of the Sunchine Coast Area Consultative Committee - you know, consult with the business community and provide feedback to their political masters. Obviously I was wrong. I understand there are some 28,000 registered businesses on the Coast and I hope the level of responents increase markedly over the short term; 502 respondents is not a bad effort but it would help if we had a bigger sampling - some ASIC sectors were sadly under represented and at the same token, some sectors were over represented - this could seriously skew collated responses and I was wondering whether any thought had been given to that. In the end, a worthwhile exercise. Congrats. Chris

We are trying hard to get greater representation from across the Coast, and across ANZIC codes. Interestingly, when we looked at the data from the Northern region and compared it to the Southern region, we found that the ANZIC code percentages were very similar. However we are working on getting some more agribusiness and manufacturing representation, and of course other sectors. Any additional ideas and offers of support are more than welcome!
