It would be useful for those of us who have two or more different areas of business to be able to complete different surveys. The surveys are well laid out and easy to follow. Congratulations.

Very easy to fill out and follow. Maybe adding a question about Creative Industries for next Survey?
I would also like to see "Forward to friend" within the newsletter, so I can invite business associates and friends to join the survey.

The visitors we have are usually (not always) from down south. I find in talking with clients that they belive that if it floods up north, it is flooded all over Qld. The same with a cyclone etc.
How do we advise the tourist that we are not always flooded etc.
I do post on my website for instance that cyclone Larry was as far from Noosa as Melbourne is from Noosa. Could we all do that or can someone suggest anything that may give the tourist comfort about coming here and not needing a raft. Open to options and feedback please.

I agree with one of the comments, weather forecasts and the media have a lot to answer for. The recent supposed tidal wave that was going to take Cotton Tree away, hence the evacuation of the caravan park, was one of the smaller downfalls we have had, yet it took business away from us all for weeks and we are still trying to recover. In actual fact the rain we had March was worse.

The comments of the respondent above about southern visitor impressions re weather and other adverse events are "bang on". This is a problem we are constantly coming up against as the impressions of so many southerers are coloured by 'dramatic reporting' of often localised weather problems, by the media. Many people cancel or postpone/alter their holiday plans based on inaccurate perception of what may or may not be happening accross the Sunshine Coast. Are 'Press Releases' to southern media from our major tourism bodies, to help clarify reality, an option after significant weather events? These 'incorrect perceptions' may well be costing our local economy hundreds of thousands of lost tourism dollars.
