The Sunshine Coast’s Finest Business Centre
After only a couple of days online we have had over 250 responses to our survey already! Big thanks to everyone… however we want to get a lot more to ensure that the results are representative of Coast businesses.
If you have completed our June survey What do you think about it?
Or equally interesting: if you haven't: why not?
Also, Don’t forget to let us know your thoughts regarding theme ideas for the September survey.
Comments, questions or ideas about the survey or the process are most welcome. Click comments below to contribute to the conversation. Cheers.

It will be interesting to follow the trend thru the year, as we are going into the slow season.

On an economy update though, if I didn't read the papers I wouldn't know there was a global 'problem' as business has been booming and the past 4 months the best in our 4 year history. Customers don't seem to be too concerned and the economy looks fine from where we are sitting.
GrOw the creative core of our community; we think, we conceive, we implement fundamentals and .....where I live and work we grow staple and fresh produce, (with surplus for the local eco market) and only purchase food grown/fattened in 100km radius. We have developed quality, organic wines for local (100km) consumption. We and our small community are thriving on a simple trading scheme (energy and knowledge exchange). As an artist (painter) cash flow from my production/marketing business is at record high and set for positive increase (orders in and sales made prior to public exhibition. Essential transport improvements in my 5km radius: train shuttle between Traveston and Cooroy and permanently maintained bike paths the same; the horse and walking trails are already fantastic.
As a business development consultant currently mentoring many businesses across the Sunshine Coast I have observed that many just don't don't know where to turn for timely and relevent information and statistics. This initiative may just help to bridge that gap. Good job, well done... I look forward to reviewing the results.

The changes to awards if they become law will hit the hospitality and retail industries hard. The planned penalty rates for Sundays particularly Sunday night will see many places close and tourism decline.
There will be a decrease in employment particularly young people.
The only benefit from IR changes is to union organisers sitting in offices in the capital cities.
The only thing we can be certain of is that the days of speculative greed are over, It is what created this mess. Long term recovery of current economic practice is not possible, but we will recover, most probably in ways we have never considered before. The best we can do now, is to be calmly optimistic & positive, make our customers extra happy, if they feel good, they will come back & tell others. Gloom, doom & wishful speculation is nonsense. Hope this is helpful.
